Berlin Collection

As a native Berliner, Sandra Rauch has a special relationship with this city. Graffiti and street art have shaped the cityscape unlike anywhere else in Europe. So it comes as no surprise that this style has strongly influenced the artist’s work. Her colourful pictures effortlessly capture the raw and subversive atmosphere of Berlin. Famous sights like Alexanderplatz and the Victory Column are depicted in her signature silkscreen style, while the overlaying of graffiti tags results in a wild and raw visual appeal.

These experimental compositions seem to naturally convey the spirit of freedom and adventure in the urban jungle of an ever-changing metropolis. Sandra Rauch portrays a rushing, untamed and dynamic city, which seems never fully completed and invites us to discover it over and over again.

These works are proof that it’s worthwile wandering through the urban landscape with your eyes wide open. Like the pieces of a jigsaw, the artist puts together visual fragments, that she collects on her forays through the city. Drawing upon different experiences and levels of perception, such as space, movement or language, the artist creates a dense collage of city life.
